About and Contact
Hello! I'm Evie Hughes and I am an illustrator and designer who recently completed my Illustration degree at the University of Lincoln. I am focused on storytelling primarily for publishing and editorial design, but not restricted to these contexts. I'm passionate about print-making and physical traditional mediums to invoke human emotion and connections. My practice ranges from riso-graph, lino-print, book arts, ink, watercolour, paint, pencil, and other combinations that show a clear artistic hand.
I am pursuing a career in publishing design in-house, but will be taking freelance and other work opportunities from September 2026. I am open to and excited by opportunities for internships or any creative work experience. I have used my degree and time at University to gain experience in visual storytelling and creative communication, through pushing myself to learn new techniques in workshops within different departments, and completing several live client briefs. I have a strong desire to continue educating myself, learn from other designers and work within a team.
I am currently based in the Midlands but I plan to relocate for work.
